Circus 4 extends the visual language of Basood Mukalma, animating the plastic
chairs of Pakistan’s chai dhabas in a silent, cyclical dance. Drifting and colliding
like a mindless school of fish, their movements are smooth yet detached,
unaware of the currents that guide them. The work transforms these everyday
objects into a surreal spectacle, where their aimless choreography mirrors the
unresolved, repetitive rhythms of public life. Looped and perpetual, the
animation reflects on conformity, dislocation, and the unconscious patterns
that shape collective existence.
